Harold will find many good articles on his topic of Christianity and homosexuality. He will hit the jackpot in a database called Project Muse . There are 1,259 really excellent full text articles to be found by typing Christian on line one of the search box and homosexuality on line two. CQ Researcher plus Archive has some interesting information packets which can be brought up by typing "Christianity and sexuality" in the search box. Reports on sex education and same sex marriage are just a few which represent the religious perspective. Sacred Texts Archive is another excellent source. In the left hand margin is a long list of topics. Harold needs only to click on the LGTB link. Sacred Texts Archive has a Google-style search which is also very easy to use. LGBT Life w/Full Text is the premier resource to the world's literature regarding Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Transsexual issues.


Lilly and Layla could take their topic of African American women's sexuality in a number of interesting directions. They will find 315 full text articles on African American women and sexuality in Ethnic NewsWatch . PsycINFO has 283 articles using the terms African American women on line one of the search box, sexuality on line two, and United States on line three. Many, though not all, the articles are full text. MLA International Bibliography has 48 very interesting articles on African American women's sexuality as portrayed in literature. Left Index has 112 articles on the politics of sex as it applies to African American women. Lilly and Layla should select "boolean search" from the drop-down menu and type "African American women and sexuality". Full text articles are denoted in bold-face blue type.

Harold, Lilly, and Layla may want to read excerpts from the novels of E. Lynn Harris . Harris writes masterfully about African American sexuality and homosexuality.

Shawn's research is focused on heterosexual men. Health Reference Center Academic has 93 full text articles on heterosexual men's health issues. Shawn simply needs to enter the words "heterosexual men" in the search box.

Jessica will find 26 articles in Health Reference Center Academic using the terms “long term relationship AND “sexual” (She will need to type in the word “and”) PsycINFO has 164 articles. Many, but not all, are full text. Enter “long term relationships” on line one of the search box and “sexual” on line 2. The articles which are full text will have the words “full text” under the entry.

All cultures and societies are characterized by dichotomy, the eternal disconnect between belief and behavior. Nowhere is that more evident than in the arena of sexual relations. A people's folktales are a unique window into the collective psyche and mores of a culture or country. If you were to talk to a person from Thailand, he or she would no doubt tell you that marital infidelity and promiscuity are not aspects of Thai values. And yet, this very funny Thai folk story would have us believe otherwise...

Once there was a farmer who had a young and beautiful wife. Each day when the farmer went off to the fields, it was his wife's custom to disport herself with village men under a banyan tree. One day the farmer came home early for his noon meal and caught his wife in a lover's embrace.

"Wife," he roared, "You shall not put the horns on my head. Wait here while I fetch my sword and I shall kill you both!"

Now, the wife was as clever as she was beautiful. Thinking quickly, she said,

"Husband, you accuse me wrongly. When you realize your mistake you will be embarrassed. You see," she said, "This is a magic tree. It has the power to make a person see things which are not real. Let me show you. Climb to the very top of this big tree and look down."


As the farmer disappeared into the branches, the wife and her paramour lay down under the tree and proceeded to make merry once more. When the farmer looked down, he was dismayed.

"My poor wife!" he cried. "I have accused that good woman of horrid things. It does, indeed, look as though she is having coitus with that man. I shall climb down and apologize at once!"

The tree was a large one with many branches. By the time the husband had reached the ground, the wife and her lover had arranged their clothing and were sitting demurely under the tree.

"My good woman, can you ever forgive?" asked the husband.

"We'll see," said the wife smiling chastely.

And so the couple lived happily ever after and to a great old age and the husband was none the wiser.
