Literary Books @ the Auraria LibraryBegin at the "
Book Search" line. To locate a book by a particular
author, select "author" from the pull-down menu. Enter the author, last name first, on the blank line provided. To locate a book by
title, select "title" from the pull-down menu and type the title of the book on the blank line. To locate books
about an author and his or her work, select "keyword" from the pull-down. "Type in the author, last name first, and add the words
criticism and interpretation. Next try a "
subject search" and enter the author as a subject, last name first. You may notice additional subject headings tacked on after the author's name such as "
sources", "
influence", or "
study guides". These books would also provide analyses of the author's work. You may notice a date after the author's name. This is the date of his or her birth and can be helpful to distinguish between authors with the same name.
Books in Languages Other than English @ the Auraria Library Using the
"Book Search" line on the Auraria Home Page, type in the title, author, or subject to be requested and hit "go". When a list of titles appears, use the limit/sort button and pull down language menu to select works in a language other than English. If a book is not owned in the Auraria Library, hit the
Search Prospector button to see if you can order it from another Colorado library. If not, interlibrary loan service is available.
Search the World Sometimes it is necessary to go further afield to find literary works.
WorldCat contains millions of book records from libraries around the world. Nearly all of them are available by clicking on the
Interlibrary Loan link in the WorldCat entry.

Cambridge Collections Online (Cambridge University Press)
Cambridge Collections Online covers literature, poetry, theater, philosophy, religion, historical topics, and culture. CCO includes scholarly writings covering major authors, artists, philosophers, topics, and time periods. Addressing subjects and figures as diverse as Gothic Fiction and Arabic Philosophy, Tom Stoppard and Martin Luther, Jane Austin and Stravinsky, the online collection contains 1000's of downloadable essays with a chronology and guide to further reading.
Contemporary Authors A bio-bibliographical guide to current writers in all fields. Provides complete biographical and bibliographical references for authors worldwide.
Literature Criticism Online (Gale Cengage Learning)
LCO contains full-text critical literary commentary from five well-known resources: Contemporary Literary Criticism, Twentieth Century Literary Criticism, Nineteenth Century Literature Criticism, Shakespearean Literature Criticism and Short Story Criticism. LCO also links to Gales Lit Index, an index to additional literary compendiums.

It combines information from major reference works, books, and literary journals. MLA International Bibliography (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts)
Indexes critical literary and language scholarship and provides access to over 4,000 journals and serials published worldwide, as well as books, essay collections, working papers, proceedings, dissertations, and bibliographies.
Project Muse (Project Muse)
Provides full text of over 100 scholarly journals in arts and humanities, social sciences, and mathematics.
Popular DatabasesChicano Database (University of California)
